Unfortunately, he is the only pediatric ophthalmologist in Vermont. For this reason, he has gotten away with poor manners and harsh statements about patient's vision issues. We are headed to Boston for vision care. Wish we hadn't wasted our time with Dr. Soares. The office staff were nice.

I had a strabismus repair performed by Dr. Soares on September 20, 2017. I had one eleven years ago by another surgeon, but I believe Dr. Soares came in first regarding my final results. It is so wonderful to look in the mirror and see that my pupils are even, and not floating all over the place.
UPDATE
We are getting treatment for our daughter's eye issue at Boston Children's Hospital. Our doctor there is amazing! She has written papers about her type of eye surgery and they have equipment that measures eye issues more precisely. All around better care.
Had my second lazy eye surgery by Dr. Soares, he did a wonderful job and my eye is just now starting to drift back after 7 years. Much longer then i expected it to last!
What impressed me the most was his thoroughness, his compassion, and the fact when you call his office with questions, he returns the call not his personnel. Today I feel as though the physicians are doing very little. They actually have their employees doing the exam, answering the questions, and it is scary. When a doctor returns a call it is very rare.
